Ming and qing dynasty, occupying the Chinese social education mainstream thought already severe neo-confucianism education, no matter from books, education or private school,has become subservient to the imperial system.Teaching methods emphasize sit-ins reading and Self-cultivation.Yan yuan as a progressive educator and thinker, timely puts forward education thought, "pragmatic education" started school, enrolling students, wide set course, fosters the talent. He cultivate students have the natural scientists, business people, also a farmer, such like Li Gong,Wang Yuan who is great scholars.They inherit and carry forward the doctrine of Yan Yuan, then formed a unique and famous school, and future generations will it become YanLi theory. In the long-term teaching and practice, the traditional education from yan found the actual life, and creative elligently proposed the pragmatic education education thought. The thoughts on students comprehensive study, don't neglect to specialized talents, emphasize "XiXing" teaching methods' effect, which is designed for fostering applying what talent. Yan's education thought of pragmatic education in Chinese history has the meaning of landmark, today still have very good pragmatic education significance. The contemporary school history teaching exists some inevitable problems, pointing out a few problem, lists, the current situation grim.
