With the development of embedded technology, multimedia advertising machines are paid great attention by more and more advertisers because of its beautiful image quality and intelligent management. PIAT-6 is a advertising machine developed by Routon Electronic Co.Ltd.which has distinguishing features of high definition playback, intelligent management and remote real-time monitoring.Remote data communication between PIAT-6 and backend server is realized by cable network. In order to enhance mobility of products, two complementary wireless equipments are added in PIAT-6. they are 3G modem and Wireless LAN card. The main content of this subjects is writing driver programs for these two cardsIn the districts without wired network and wireless network, Wireless network communication can be realized by 3G modem. As 3G modem connects to PIAT-6 by USB, the connection to wireless network is relized by the USB converting to serial driver. Based on USB1.1 protocol, the converting driver realized card initialization, device detection, data transmission, receiving ,and so on. At the same time it provides interfaces of parameters and buffer query to the upper layer.Since instability of speed and expensive price for 3G modem, Wireless LAN card can be used while the WIFI signal is available. The interconnection to the network is relized by the WIFI network card. The data link layer of this card is designed based on 802.11 protocal. And the data Link layer of wireless LAN realized LAN search, LAN entry, Authentication and LAN association in management frame, data transmission in data frame and error control in control frame. At the same time, it provide interface of parameters query and set to the upper layer.
