With a series of environmental protection international treaty signed and strictly national environmental protection requirements, oil refineries is a important aspect for energy conservation, emission reduction and reducing pollution of the environment. The transformation of torch control system is the important measure to realize the environmental protection compliance. The torch system used to implement the process of tail gas combustion, optimization and reuse reasonable, and reduce the pollution of the environment.Because of the uncertainty of the oil refinery accident emissions, the height of the torch device and ignition devices vulnerable to environmental impact, so the torch ignition and torch gas recovery process in operation, maintenance and management has a higher difficulty. The role of advanced torch control system is particularly important. It's directly related to the security, stability, long term operation of the refinery.The research object of this thesis is a Torch control system in a southern oil refinery. First of all this thesis analyzed the process flows of torch ignition and torch gas recovery, then this thesis constructed a torch control system and discussed the Siemens PLC in torch system application from the system planning,hardware configuration,software configuration /programming and OPC data transmission.The torch control system discussed in this paper has put into use in July 2011.The emissions targets were lower than the state provisions emissions, and advanced, stable operation and friendly interface.
