Development And Application Of Virtual Driving System

The paper analyzed the research and development of domestic and foreign virtual driving technology, especially in recent years. Secondly, the paper divided the research of virtual driving system into software part and hardware part. The software part mainly researched computer graphics technology in virtual environment and the method to realize the interactive of virtual driving system. The hardware part mainly researched the application method of the virtual reality interface technology, especially on 6-DOF (degrees of freedom) platform. The paper designed an automobile driving simulated system with Virtools, researched the process of developing a virtual driving system, and expounded the function module in detail. The system designed a realistic automobile model, established a perfect data management system, realized the real automobile parameters on the virtual automobile, gathered the road surface information and made a road spectrum file.Finally, the paper put forward the connection method of virtual driving system and 6-DOF platform, developed a universal interface program with script editor of Virtools. The system transferred the parameters of automobile to movement control system, realized the synchronous movement of virtual driving system and 6-DOF platform, and reproduced the movement path of automobile model in the virtual environment. The research of the paper expanded the application range of virtual driving technology.
