Research On Basic Questions Of Farmer Cooperatives In China

Agricultural specialized cooperatives play an important role in rural economic development in China. The development of agricultural specialized cooperatives in China during three decades gives us some thoughts that how to consider the basic characteristics and functions. Agricultural specialized cooperatives is a system to organize farmers into the market's organization, which is an effective carrier to promote agricultural development and increase their income levels, and promote the harmonious development of urban and rural areas. The government has to adapt situation to constantly adjust and improve policies, to ensure that the Chinese agricultural specialized cooperatives is sustainable development.This article cooperates theory with history to analyze the nature, content, legal status and functions of farmer cooperatives and so on from the reform and opening up. It describes basic ideas about the development of farmer cooperatives of the government and party in based on historical analysis and contemporary social analysis.This paper consists of five parts, the basic logic as follows: Preface introduces the significance of the paper, research ideas and methods in brief.The first part of the paper introduces meaning of farmer cooperatives and the types by doing a systematic analysis to explain the development stages of farmer cooperatives.In different historical periods, the CPC led the development of farmer cooperatives through adhering to Marxism, particularly in Marxist thinking of the farmer cooperatives.The second part describes the legal status of farmer cooperatives. "Farmer Cooperatives Law" is the first law to formulate the main provisions of the civil status of farmer cooperatives, established in 2006.It sets the market status the farmer cooperatives clearly.The third part discusses functions of farmer cooperatives. In contemporary China, farmer cooperatives will be an effective organizational form for farmers, consumers and other vulnerable groups to get rights doing market negotiations .while they played a crucial role in creating jobs and solving the "three rural" issues.The fourth part describes the scale problem of farmer cooperatives, it is the inevitable choice for cooperatives to deal with market competition from the decentralized, small to intensive, large-scale, group business development, to diversify the economy from a single new cooperative economic development.The fifth part makes a rational thinking and analysis for the development of farmer cooperatives in China.
