Home appliance consumption is playing a positive role on stimulating domestic demand and accelerating economic adjustment. It is significant and realistic to have a deep research on the comparison between urban and rural residents appliance consumption.The paper takes consumption economics as the theoretical basis, utilizes nearly 30 years'statistics, choose six typical kinds of home appliance" color TV set, washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, mobile phone, home computer" as object to research. In the research on the comparison between urban and rural residents appliance consumption, we combine the theoretical analysis and practical survey, combine empirical analysis and normative analysis, combine static analysis and dynamic analysis. At last, from four angles—policy, production enterprises, enterprises in circulation and consumers—the article offers countermeasures and suggestions to stimulate home appliance consumption, such as:Revise present "home appliance to the countryside" and "exchange the new by the old" policies, increase urban and rural dwellers' income, reduce home appliance price, improve products' quality and services, improve logistics efficiency, improve social security system, increase public products supply, optimize consumption environment, increase financial support, etc.
