| Since the reforming and opening policy, China has achieved great development. As an important part of reforming and opening policy, foreign investment, especially FDI, plays an increasingly important role in China's economic development. From the point of using foreign investment, the total FDI in China has exceeded 100 billion US dollars, reaching 105.74 billion dollars in 2010, increases 17.4% compared with the last year, which has reached the highest level in history. The data from the Organization of Trade and Development of the United Nations shows that the foreign investment in China has ranked the second in the world, which is after the US, and is the first of the developing countries in 20102.The foreign investment does not only provide financial and technical support to China's economic development, but also plays an important role in creating jobs, increasing revenue, and improving the market mechanisms in China. As the development of China's economic development, however, the gap between different regions, the dual structure of urban and rural area, and the capacity of resources become more and more obvious and has become the constraints of China's long-term development. The foreign investment has improved the economic development as the mean while has increased the disequilibrium of China's economy because of the profit-driven characteristics of foreign investment, and that also means that the foreign investment cannot take the initiative to invest into the way which will help the change of development mode of China's economy.To guide the foreign investment, first of all, we need to analysis the situations, efficiency and problems of long-term foreign investment in China, only after the objective assessment of utilization of foreign investment can we find the problems in the process of foreign investment, and can we find the way to solve the problems. Under this situation, this thesis has done the research of the situation, efficiency and problems of foreign investment in China.The content of this thesis is as following:Chapter 2:Organize the theories of foreign investment. The theoretical analysis of the problem is conducive to deepening understanding of the issues of reality; Organizing the theory on the use of foreign investment can help us understand the problems in the process of using foreign capital and the causes of inefficient use of foreign investment much better, and it also provides a theoretical basis for guiding foreign investment reasonably, which makes policy recommendations more persuasive. This part organizes five foreign investment theories systematically.Chapter 3:Analyzes status, efficiency and problems of China's using foreign investment. First of all, this part gives the notion of efficiency and the efficiency of foreign investment, then it will use of statistical data to analyzes the use of foreign investment status, structure, and based on that using the empirical research study method analyzes the overall efficiency in China of using foreign investment and area efficiency, then analyzes the reasons of the low efficiency for using foreign investment. According to the current situation of using foreign investment, the total of using foreign investment is increasing, while there is a certain irrationality in the structure of foreign investment, including the structure of sources of foreign investment is irrational, Hong Kong-invested is too high; foreign investment in the industrial structure is irrational, manufacturing sector is far higher than other industries; foreign investment in the regional structure is irrational, investment in central and western regions was significantly less than the east. From empirical studies to the efficiency of using foreign investment, the foreign investment's contribution to the overall economy is declining, while foreign investment is increasing the incompatibility of regional economic development. Finally analyze several reasons about the low efficiency of using foreign investment in China.Chapter 4:Give rational ways and suggestions for improving the efficiency of using foreign investment in China. First in this part, we will summarize the experiences and lessons of using foreign investment in developing countries form successes and failures experience of using foreign investment in developing countries, which can provides reference for using foreign investment much better. Than analyze the advantages of using foreign investment, and give some advices on using investment much better form regulation perspective.The innovation of this paper lies in using Quantitative Methods, not only the overall efficiency of using foreign investment is analyzed, but also the efficiency in areas is discussed.
