The rapid development of Chengdu Economy has brought us material prosperity and serious transportation problems as well. In 2005 the municipal government has commenced the large-scale construction of rail-transportation in Chengdu. Subway line one was opened to traffic in September,27th 2010. Can the project of large investment ease the traffic flow of Chengdu? What is the influence of line one on the peripheral areas during rush hours? Will it attract more passengers to use public transportation? How does the commuter choose their way of transportation when line one serves as the main force to shift the pressure of traffic flow during rush hours? All those issues have been the concern of public.The study of transportation behavior lays the foundation for transportation management and control in theory. It is also essential to urban traffic planning, construction and management. This study, with its focus on the function of subway line one in Chengdu, has established the transportation-sharing model based on Nested Logit by going through the theories relevant to the study of transportation behavior systematically; on the other hand, we have collected the data of commuters by combining the investigation of SP and RP in Chengdu High-tech area, and an in-depth study of the influence of Line one on commuters can be gained on the basis of statistical data analysis and disaggregate modeling methods.This research mainly includes the following four aspects:1,Systematically sort out the theories and methods for passenger traffic study from the angle of transportation behavior theory, relevant modeling methods and investigation theories, and then make comparison and analysis on those theories and methods.2,Improve the utility function model by systematically studying the Disaggregate model and then establish the commuter traffic-sharing model grounded on Nested Logit, and finally work out the result using SAS 9.2 to program.3,Design the questionnaire based on the combination of SP and RP, collect 642 commuter samples in total, and then analyze the data by Multistage Sampling method, therefore conclude the influence made by line one.4,According to the status quo of line one, adjust the parameter of commuter traffic-sharing model, conduct sensitive analysis on factors like ticket price and walking time to subway station, and then compare the effects of those factors on commuters in a systematical way.This paper has studied the achievements registered home and abroad on transportation behavior, and established the commuter traffic-sharing model on the basis of SP and RP investigation, therefore it has systematically explored the influence brought by subway line one on urban commuters in Chengdu. Once the subway line one to seven to be opened to traffic, the transportation model can also be expanded to investigate the effects of rail-transportation on the behavior of commuters. By analyzing the factors such as ticket price and the distance from subway station in theory and in practice, we can make this paper a reference for the transportation management and control of Chengdu.
