"From Sightseeing To Leisure": Research On Guilin's Tourism Industry Development

Since the 18th century, leisure has sprouted as a production of social development. Since the 20th century, with the rapid development of science and technology, a variety of leisure-related industries have also emerged. By the 1970s, the leisure has entered the development period. Ximolite, Department of the Washington Public Policy Forecasting, said:leisure, entertainment and tourism will become the next economic tide, and swept around the world. The tertiary industry typically provides leisure will led the labor market in 2015, and account for half the share of GDP in the United States. At the Boao Forum for Asia Travel, the direct of Beijing University Tourism Development and Planning Research Center, the World Tourism Organization (WTO) consultant Dr. Wu Bihu Professor has said: the Chinese tourism is striding across from primary sightseeing type to senior holiday resort. The tourism industry has entered a transition period. The article is based on the background that the leisure industry is in full swing in the international, draws on previous research achievements on leisure and tourism, explores the closely related entertainment properties between leisure and tourism, and gives a review of orientation to Guilin tourism industry. Hope with the aid of this new trend and the opportunity that the country put forward to building "national tourism comprehensive reform pilot area", "national service comprehensive reform area", to upgrade the tourism industry of Guilin, and bring about a new undertaking for traditional sightseeing to leisure tourism.This paper first clarifies the Guilin tourism present conditions, then analyzes the tourism trends in domestic and international, and with the aid of leisure theory, hierarchy of needs theory and other interdisciplinary theories to analyze the significance the industrial development and the necessity of development from sightseeing to leisure.Through building the gravity model that Malaysia travels to Guilin, using EVIEWS software to analyze the errors of current new tourism forms in Guilin, and has a good fitting result. Analysis showed that despite Guilin has a leisure bud, but unfortunately it can not understand the nature of leisure, then, not only led to the waste of current human, material and financial resources, but also be worth thinking, some cultural, non-renewable Tourism resources are wrongly used, it is very unfortunate. The qualitative analysis of the first two chapters and the mathematical model's quantitative analysis of the third chapter tracks out the main problems of the Guilin tourism at present:the tourism industry is not standardized, and leisure is treated as the sighting tourism.The chapter IV of the paper analyzes the internal and external environment that the transformation and upgrading of Guilin must be face. Analysis of the internal environment is Guilin's own strengths and weaknesses; the external environment analyzes the opportunities and threats Guilin facing. Hope that Guilin could avoid weaknesses and external risks, seize the existing opportunity to achieve tourism's upgrade. At last, the paper puts forward some relevant countermeasures of the tourism upgrading.Guilin as a bridgehead for China's tourism industry and the direction indicator, not only should have a strategic vision, proactively insight into new forms of international tourism, but also to play an exemplary role, use its unique advantages in our tourism industry to play its lighthouse role. Therefore, the Guilin tourism's development and upgrade, not only could ensure the optimal use of unique resources, constantly open up the innovation of the tourism industry, consolidate and strengthen its position in China's tourism industry; also set an example for the whole tourism industry, and actively guide the development of China's tourism industry and enhance the overall level and grade of China's tourism industry.
