LUCC are the leading edge and hot topics of the global change research. With the rapid development of economic and social, the land resources which as an important carrier supported the development of Kunshan are less and less. The contradiction between supply and demand of land resources is more and more prominent. Studies on the dynamic changes of land use in Kunshan have great significance on the rational development, utilization and protection of the limited land resources; also have great significance on the coordinated development between the socio-economic and the land use.In this paper, three different times land use data which were interpreted by remote sensing data since the 21st century, were analyzed through the dynamic changes models and ARCGIS software etc. Based on the analysis and evaluation of the current land use, this paper analyzed the land use change on spatial and temporal on the period 2001-2009. This paper also revealed the features of the dynamic change of land use, and predicted the change trend of land structure in 2015 and 2020. In the end, the paper offered some policies and measures to the sustainable land use of Kunshan. The main findings of this paper include the following:(1) The analysis of current land use showed that the water and the water resources facilities land and the resident and industry land are take the main in the land use structure. They make up 36.31% and 30.25% of Kunshan's total area respectively. However, the cultivated land only makes up 17.73% of the whole city.(2) The analysis of quantity change of all kinds of land showed that the land use structure of Kunshan changed largely in 2001-2009, and the main trend is that as the cultivated land area reduced significantly, the resident and industry land and the traffic and transmission land area are increased significantly. The water and the water resources facilities land are also reduced visibility.(3) From the transformation of the land use structure we can conclude that the transformation happened between all of the land type. A lot of cultivated land, garden land and forest land transferred to the resident and industry land and the traffic and transmission land, furthermore, the transferred speed were increasing in recent years. The supplement of cultivated land was mainly depending on the land treatment and rehabilitation.(4) The prediction through Markov model showed that the cultivated land, garden land and the water and the water resources facilities land will still reduce, but the reducing speed will slower; and the resident and industry land and the traffic and transmission land will still increase, but the increasing speed will decrease; the other lands will have little change.(5) Finally, this paper gives some ways and measures to ensure a sustainable use of land. They include exercise control of the aggregate land for construction purposes; adjust the structure and distribution of construction land; improve the invest level of industrial land to enhance the intensive degree of land use; strengthen the protection of cultivated especially the basic farmland; explode the land resources adaptation to local to raise the utilization rate and the output efficiency of land; optimize the land use ideas by the scientific concept of development etc.
