Competition in regional tourism is always inevitable because of tourism activities which are limited to certain areas.Although,on the conscious initiative of local governments,regional tourism cooperation has gained great progress among the adjacent areas,tourism competition doesn't diminished within or cross regions.Disputes on celebrity's hometown is one of the most typical problems,it have to be understood throughly both its phenomenon and essence,and take effective measures to solve it.Then,the regional tourism could be developed orderly.This paper argues that the essence of disputing on celebrity's hometown is regional tourism competition led by governments by analyzing its reasons of emergence and development. Then according to the theory of coopetition,combined with a case, it analyzes the settlement strategies of this dispute.The whole article is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter,it mainly introduces the research background, study reviews, the theoretical foundation,and so on.In the second chapter,it analyzes the essence of disputes on celebrity's hometown.Firstly,it summarizes the historial and incentive causes,introduces the new conditions about its regional distribution, competition modes and character category.Then based on its new qualities and contradictions,it draws the conclusion that the essence of disputing on celebrity's hometown is the regional tourism competition.In the third chapter,it analyzes the main problems in regional tourism competition through the dispute on celebrity's hometown.Firstly, local government plays a leading role,but according to the method of cost-benefit and cases,the result usually is little gain and great loss. Secondly, historic culture resources is more and more important to the regional tourism competitiveness,but it was unreasonable developed and and failed to form intellectual property advantages. Finally,tourism brand has become the main way of regional tourism competition,but there are lots of problems too.In the fourth chapter,based on the thoery of regional tourism coopetition,it analyzes the settlement strategies of this dispute.Due to limitations of usual solving methods and there are objective basic conditions applied the tourism coopetition strategy to solve it,and the strategy should be carried out in the principles of resource sharing and coordinative development and so on.Its main approaches include market integration in the adjacent regions and product integration in the un-adjacent regions.Taking the example of Zhuxi's hometown,the dispute could be settled by this way.In the last part,it summarizes the main views and conclusions,and points out some problems needed to be further discussed.
