Research On Competitiveness Of Hebei Iron And Steel Industry Which Based On Diamond Model

Hebei province is the No.1 in iron and steel in China. Hebei has been ranked the first for 9successive years since producted 19,696,500 tons in 2001. Its iron and steel products has coveredmore than 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.Hebei Iron and Steel Groupranked the second in the global iron and steel enterprises in 2009.It promote the development of iron and steel industry in Hebei that Demand from home andabroad and the support of governments. The paper briefly introduce the definition and the factors ofindustrial competitiveness and diamond model. Secondly,analyzing the situation of iron and steelindustry in Hebei by diamond model.Thirdly,constructioning the index system of industrycompetitiveness based on the diamond model.The paper selects the relevant data of provinces in2008, 2009 and determines the combination weight based on entropy method and questionnaire .And the next,the paper calculates the iron steel industry competitiveness score of provinces.Finally,the paper proposes the recommendations of increasing the competitiveness of Iron andSteel Industry in Hebei according to the results of evaluation scores.
