Development Prospect For The Methanol To Gasoline Project

Under the situation of"lack of oil, gas, and rich in coal", many enterprises in coal chemical industry have been preparing for developing projects of coal oil since 2002. Jincheng city in Shanxi province is suitable for synthesizing oil from coal because it is rich in coal and water. That's why Jincheng coal industry group is developing coal oil industry by adopting"methanol to gasoline"(MTG) process. The synthesis of gasoline from methanol whose source is coal fully agrees with corresponding national policies, not only lowering the interdependency in oil import, but also finding a good solution to the inferior coal problem. Besides, over-capacity of methanol production can be relieved by applying MTG process.The theory is combined with practice in this paper. The project evaluation methods and some related knowledge for management of project construction are applied to the evaluation of MTG project by Jincheng coal industry group, in which major influence factors are analyzed based on data analysis and construction experience, the comprehensive prospect of MTG is evaluated, finding out the major effects of project construction, putting forward some suggestions to avoid the construction and management risk, which will play an important role in the development of MTG project by Jincheng coal industry group, or even by the whole country.
