Study On Management For Equipment Maintenance Spare Parts

As traditional production companies pay more attention on management ofmaintenance spare parts,the management of maintenance spare parts is becoming one ofimportance part of the basic management of a production company.On the same time,management of maintenance spare parts of most companies are not on high level.Ucompany is facing the fact that machines for production breaks down oftenly because oflack of spare parts even the spare parts inventory is big.After analyzing the mass situation of U company's maintenance spare partsmanagement,some root causes was founded and also solutions been suggested.Firstly,regarding unreasonable spare parts sorting management, a new solution based on ABCsorting method is suggested in order to make the sorting more accurate,the result of sortingwill be the foundation of spare parts management; secondly,regarding lack of plan forspare part consumption and procurement,a consumption forecasting method is introducedto predict the spare paring consumption, the result of this forecasting is a very importantfoundation for spare part procurement and storage;finally, regarding high level of sparepart inventory, a strategy for spars parts procurement and inventory is suggested, all spareparts are defined for several parameter, e.g. maximum quantity, minimum quantity,ordering time, ordering quantity etc., this strategy is based on data from consumptionforecasting.With usage of above common tools and method, a new system for Ucompany's maintenance spare parts management is established.After implementation of this new system, spare parts sorting become reasonsable,level of spare parts inventory optimized, machine break down incident coming from lackof spare parts reduced, which guarantee the production to meet the boosting requirement.
