Path Exploration For China Commercial Banks Internationalization

With China economy's deeper integration with global economy,China commercial banks begin to go abroad to participate competition ininternational finance market. Compared to internationalization process forbanks from developed countries, China commercial banks will face morechallenges and difficulties, like political and ideology discrimination,different regulation environment, lacking talents and expertise etc. Allthese determine China commercial banks should take different path forinternationalization compared to counterparts from developed countries.Establishment of suitable internationalization path for Chinacommercial banks needs to base on suitable motivation theory for Chinacommercial banks, and integrate existing successful experience fromglobal banks with exploration practice of internationalization of Chinacommercial banks. The thesis tries to go through1) theory study: research motivation theories and exploration practice of internationalization ofChina commercial banks to answer "Why China commercial banks needto take the road of internalization";2) case study: research sample casesof bank internalization home and abroad to summarize successfulexperience and failure lessons. After defining the rudimentary frame ofmotivation theory for China commercial banks and learning the practiceexperience of banks internationalization home and abroad, the thesissummarizes the main principles of China commercial banksinternationalization and builds the roadmap to answer "How Chinacommercial banks go for internationalization?". At last, the thesis designsinternationalization path for one commercial bank in Shanghai based onestablished main principles and path frame.
