Research On The Automotive Logistics Value-added Service In Tianjin Port Ro-Ro Terminal

With the development of domestic auto industry, the demand of auto market increased gradually, driving the rise of foreign trade auto volume. As the key logistics link of handling imported autos, ro-ro terminal occupies a major position on the whole logistics chain. The fast development of imported vehicles brings new opportunities and challenges for the automotive logistics service in ro-ro terminal. It is an important research topic on how to enhance the competitiveness of automotive logistics in ro-ro terminal and meet the variable demand of auto manufacturers and consumers.This thesis contains the analysis of development trend of automotive logistics operation in Tianjin Ro-Ro Terminal, including the advantage, disadvantage, opportunity and threat of developing automotive logistics in Tianjin Port and the forecast of auto import throughput in Tianjin Port in the future. The result of the forecast and analysis mentioned above showed that Tianjin Port Ro-Ro Terminal had met the requirements on the building of automotive logistics value-added center. I will compare Tianjin Port Ro-Ro Terminal with famous domestic and foreign ro-ro terminal on logistics to absorb the advanced experience. At last, I will propose the strategic assumption to develop automotive logistics value-added center in Tianjin Port, which is to build the ro-ro terminal to a comprehensive automotive logistics center encompassing auto handling, warehousing, PDI and VPC. I will take TPG Global Ro-Ro Terminal as an example in this thesis, proposing a specific scheme to build an automotive logistics value-added center in TPG Global Ro-Ro Terminal, which include project budget, forecast of income and cost and risk analysis. The analysis result shows that the automotive logistics value-added center has a bright prospect from the view of both social effect and economic return.
