This thesis aims at using the institutional change theory in new institutional economics to analyze the relationship between the China's foreign trade institutional change and China's foreign trade development. The researching findings of this thesis shows that foreign trade institutional change and China's foreign trade development are mutually reinforcing, and foreign trade institutional change is core to foreign trade development, and foreign trade development in turn further promotes foreign trade institutional change. China's foreign trade is now at a new historical starting point. On the one hand, the practice of China's foreign trade institutional change urgently needs a strong explanation, which meets the guidance of modern economics for the characteristics of the Chinese foreign trade institutional change. Therefore, we can use the institutional change theory to explain the empirical facts of the process of China's foreign trade institutional change. On the other hand, through analyzing the path of China's foreign trade institutional change, we can summarize the course of China's foreign trade institutional change experiences and lessons, and explore the science of China's foreign trade development mode.Institution and institutional change are the content of the conceptual basis of this paper. The theoretical basis of this paper is foreign trade institutional change by reducing transaction costs in the development of foreign trade and promoting foreign trade development. The path dependence theory of institutional change can to some extent explain the cause of China's foreign trade system using progressive institutional change mode. However, the effective supply of institutional change is still hampered by many factors.By looking back upon the history of China foreign trade institutional change, we can understand the characteristics and causes of China foreign trade institutional change. Since reform and opening China's foreign trade institutional change gradually toward a market economy foreign trade institutional, in particular, China's accession to the WTO mechanism historic opportunity to produce for the foreign trade institutional change forced effect. By anglicizing the demand and supply issues of China's foreign trade institutional change, we analyze the main reasons of China taking government-led incremental institutional change in the foreign trade. The conclusion in the text suggests that it is a complicated and long-term process for China foreign trade development through foreign trade institutional change. Foreign trade institutional change is the "reform"and"open"intersection, since reform and opening, its foreign trade institutional change promotes foreign trade development enormously. However, under the background of economic globalization and with the framework of WTO, China would like to maintain sound and rapid development of foreign trade and shift from the big trading nation to powers. It is necessary to use the appropriate mode of foreign trade institutional changes, focusing on building China's national conditions of free trade system. As a transition economy country, china is both from a planned economy to a market economy, but also the gradual trade liberalization; this dual objective requires a variety of institutional arrangements to achieve. Through foreign trade institutional change can promote the development of foreign trade and achieve long-term economic growth, but also to promote other areas of China's economic institutional change.
