Ethnic Tourism And Culture Impact On The Destination

Ethnic minority area's tourism is one kind of tourism form relying on the natural landscape and cultural resources. The regions belong to cultural and ecological breakage and fringe area,mass cultural exchange and cultural diffusion caused by tourism development will inevitably lead to cultural diversity's changes. Therefore, how to make the culture development and tourism development interact effectively is the key problems and difficulty for the sustainable development of tourism. However, in present day, the academic circle likes to choose southwest of China to carry out research, ignoring the influence of tourism development of northwest of China. Xiahe County located in Gansu province is on the edge of the Tibetan plateau, where ethnic culture keeps the original features which has strong attraction to the external. In recent years, its tourism gets rapid development, so it belongs to the typical later-developing culture tourism area. This dissertation chooses Xiahe for case investigation and analysis, exploring community cultural effect of tourism, this is of importance in value for doing scientific development and planning of ethnic regional tourism development, expanding the academic research field.The dissertation, using field investigation method, interview method and study of books of Ethnology, Anthropology and Sociology, based on other scholars'research achievement, does study on changes and transformation of culture in the background of tourism development of Xiahe. The dissertation includes five chapters. Chapter One puts forward to research background and significance, combing the academic research status and characteristics; Chapter Two analyzes the present station and condition of Xiahe tourism development; Chapter Three studies the cultural influences of tourism; Chapter Four presents the suggestions and countermeasures of coordinated development of culture and tourism; The last chapter offers conclusions and thinking for following study.The major views and conclusion of this dissertation is that the influence is whole-sided, tourism in ethnic minority regions cause clothes, shelter, religious beliefs, concept and festival celebrations, behavior such as organization changed; some of the influence is useful, which helps minority enjoy civilization achievements, but part are not because they obviously weaken the cultural characteristics, which is unfavorable to tourism development, people life, our country and posed a threat to frontier culture safety; the influence in Xiahe has regional characteristics, for example, local citizens normal life form is not excessively disturbed, religious presents secularization characteristics; we must carry put Four Enforcement Strategy, that is making great efforts to protect traditional culture as well as ecological space, strengthening the process of cultural capitalization, effectively expanding cultural tourist market, while strengthening the regional tourist cooperation, so as to make cultural effect tourism of development optimized.
