Performance Excellence Post-Evaluation Of A Comsumer Electronics Project

The specificity of consumer electronics industry itself determines that it's necessary to implement project management in consumer electronics projects. It's an urgent problem that how to assess the level of project management and summarize the experiences and lessons learned to improve project management level. The Performance Excellence Model is the mature experience summary of temporary world leading corporations in the pursuit of excellence into practice, so using it for post-project evaluation of consumer electronics is a meaningful attempt. Excellent performance Project post-evaluation is a consequent method to evaluate project management process and results with excellent performance model.This paper describes the the core values of performance excellence model, established the evaluation model, the key indicators and the scoring system, provided a detailed evaluation of an electronic consumer project on seven aspects including leadership, project planning, customer, knowledge management, people-oriented, process management and results of operations; established the excellent project management maturity model, classified the stages of project management, indicated the clear phases and project complexity, revealed the essential characteristics of the project post-evaluation system of the excellent performance. In further this paper discussed on how to upgrade to excellence performance according to the characteristics of the electronics manufacturing industry, proposed six kinds of sophisticated methods including Design for Six Sigma, Six Sigma Management, Lean, learning organization, the macro-flow, Global Compact on how to improve Excellent performance has been analyzed and studied.Analysing of the actual case of excellence performance, calculating its excellent project management maturity, the level of project management is superior stage, not yet reached the stage of excellence, so need to improve the methods. This paper is to study post-evaluation process of excellent performance mode; it has a certain significance on how to improve project management level, on the other hand it provides the reference methods and lesson learned for project management practices to enhance the core competitiveness of business, projects and products.
