Research On Spare Part Management In A Automotive Corporation K

With the high speed of automation in manufacturing industry, equipment is becoming more and more important. Spare parts management was a Gordian knot for managers. Managers of the Corporations always in a dilemma like this:some times for saving cost of spare parts, they have to at the risk of machine down; some times for avoiding machine down, they have to set a large stock of spare parts and then spend high cost. Spare parts management is not only ensure total value less and less, but also to ensure reliable in technology and quality.In this paper, the subject was around spare parts inventory management of corporation K. Corporation K was a global corporation all over the world which head quarter located in Germany. By a thorough research to the department of spare parts, I found that there are many problems in spare parts management. This article will analyze the reasons of these problems, combined with the theoretical knowledge of spare parts managements, I hope to get some solutions which could be helpful to improving the managers of corporation K.
