It’s vital important for equipment spare parts management to modernproduction companies when they rely more on its production facilities. Spareparts are guarantee of continuous production. Lack of spare parts would makethe faulty components cannot be replaced on time and production stop wouldresult in significant losses. Spare parts inventory directly occupied liquidity.Overstocked spare parts would freeze mass amount of liquidity. Due to thecomplexity of mechanical facility in chemical pharmaceutical company, howto make the spare parts management policy was always a challenge. Thisthesis tried to find a systematic method to solve this problem. This researchanswered two questions–which spare parts should be in stock and howmany it should be stocked. The answer of these two questions had practicalsignificance.This thesis would use the weight of each factor to calculate itssignificant score. This score would be used to divide the spare parts intocategories. This method can be processed by computer, so it solved theproblem of inefficiency and unstable. This thesis used classification methodto calculate basic class demand rate which classified similar property, similarfunction and similar work condition spare parts together as a class. This method used simply algorithms without any complex mathematics orstatistics theory made it more convenience to wide application.This thesis answered the question of how many spare parts should be instock. It used demand rate to calculate the expected spare parts demand, andused the lead time demand as re-order point which calculated based ondemand standard division and service level. It also suggested using a certaintime period expected demand as the highest inventory stock level. Thismethod systematically answered the questions of stock management.This thesis answered the questions of spare parts stock method and stocklevel systematically which was important in spare part management policythrough classify spare parts and calculate the safety stock and highest stocklevel. It has practical significance.
