Aircraft is a complex system, in order to keep the safety and punctuality of theflight, airlines need to invest a lot of manpower and money to maintain and repair theaircrafts. Aviation spare part, the material for maintenance and repair, is the key issuefor the daily flight. Can timely, accurately supply aviation spare part has importantinfluence on flight punctuality. Due to various historical reasons, there always be a lotsof problems with the airline’s aviation spare part inventory management, like moneyaccumulate, turnover slow, AOG order often happen, inventory plan manually control,etc. To study how to improve the inventory management, to reduce inventory cost, toimprove the availability of the aviation spare part, has important practical influence onenhancing the service level of the airline and reducing the operating costs.According to the different internal requirement from Airlines, this articleclassifies the aviation spare parts into lots of ways. From the service level and costaspects, this article analyzed the evaluation indexes of aviation spare inventorymanagement. Through the analyzing of A Airlines’ inventory status, and according tothe airline’s fleet size, the airplane’s different introduction stages, the differentimportance of rotable parts and expendable parts, the aviation spare part inventorymanagement can be divided into stages like initial spare part management and routinespare part management etc. respectively. To analyze their characteristics, applicablePoisson distribution models are established. For the expendable parts, since most ofthem are not no-go parts, the order quantity each time will be large, price discountsometimes exists, model of economic batch order with or without spare lack or withprice discount are established separately, the economic order quantity has been getwith calculation.This article has certain reference value for aviation spare part supply chainmanagement.
