Study On Comparison Between Korean And Chinese Culture On Lunar New Year's Day

Culture is the spiritual bond for maintaining survival and development of a country. Therefore, for understanding a country, most of all, we should understand cultures of the country. As the relationship between Korea and China has improved, it has been clearly important to increase mutual understanding. For a long time, Korea and China has kept good neighborly relations and embraced better cultures by cultural exchange between countries. For increasing the mutual understanding between Korea and China, I thought doing research on Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China was the most important point.The thesis is composed of five chapters, the second, third and fourth chapter are significant.The first chapter is an introduction. In the introduction, I commented on the meaning of this thesis and briefly described the results of studies on interrelation between Korean seasonal customs and Chinese seasonal customs and presented significance of study in this thesis. Through the study on Korean customs on national holidays and Chinese customs on national holidays, I minutely explored the similarities and differences between Korean culture and Chinese culture.In the second chapter, I explained the common origin of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China in detail. I mostly commented on the origin, definition and derivation of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China. I explained the origin of the name of "Lunar New Year's Day" of Korea and China and included the hidden meaning of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China. Also, I commented on derivation of Lunar New Year' s Day of Korea and China. By this way, I obtained the elementary knowledge of traditional Lunar New Year' s Day of Korea and China.In the third chapter, I analyzed the similarities and differences between Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China. The main content is the comparison between the similarities and differences of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China. Firstly, I pointed out the similarities of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China in original and customary area. Also, I commented on the differences of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China from atmosphere, preparatory period and importance of view.In the fourth chapter, I explained the changes of Lunar New Year's Day of Korea and China in the contemporary society and the causes of these changes.In the fifth chapter, it contained the conclusion, creativity and insufficiency of this thesis. Also it covered some comments about future thesis.
