Study On Development Patterns Of New Urban District Based On Empirical Analyses Of Sanmen Bay In Ninghai

With the rapid economic growing, industrialization and urbanization speeding since China's reform and opening, urban population increases and space expends rapidly. Most cities are seeking new space from the suburban areas for development thus promoting a series of new urban development activities. Different from the Industrial Parks and Development Zones, those new urban areas are more complicated and sophisticated which is very important to promote regional economic growth and guide the urbanization. The increasingly important role of those new urban areas in the local economic growth has also drawn continuous academic attention. Because the study is still on the state-level new areas or new districts of especially big cities, little research on the new urban areas of counties and cities.Based on some theories on the development of new urban areas from foreign countries, we study the development models of some cities in China, for example, Changxing, Jiashan and Lincheng in Zhoushan to learn from both the successful experience and mistakes. Also, based on the successful experience from those cities, we analyze the strengths and weakness, opportunities and constrains in the development of the new urban area in Sanmen Bay, and present the development patterns has level quality. So in the development of Sanmen Bay we can provide better idea in management, financing, land development and business invitation which also can be used as guidance for other counties and cities.
