In this study,we make the enterprise who implement the vendor managed inventory (VMI) as the object of investigation.The study investigate the relationship between the upstream and downstream enterprises trust,information sharing and the inventory levels in the supply chain deeply,and analyse the information sharing in the impact of trust between the upstream and dowmstream enterprises on the inventory levels furtherly.Currently,in the academic area,the impact studies of the upstream and dowmstream enterprises on the inventory levels are very few.In this study,in the basis of great deal of relevant literature reviews,combinated of the field interviews,we propose the theoretical model and research hypothesises.By the way of questionnaire survey,we make the statistica analysis of the date,we get the conclusions:(1)the demensions of the upstream and downstream enterprises ;(2)in the relationship between the demensions of the upstream and downstream enterprises and inventory levels,information sharing plays an intermediary role ;(3)the benevolence-based trust between the upstream and downstream enterprises don't have a significant impact on the awareness of information sharing;(4)the demensions of information sharing have a nagative cerrelation on the inventory levels;(5)some of the enterprise features don't make significantly differences on the inventory levels.In the final of the paper,we analyze and discuss these empirical results, summarize the limitations in the study,and make some recommendations for the scholars to conduce a deeply study.Besides,we also make some recommendations for the enterprises in the ratail industry to reduce the inventory levels.
