With the rapid development and the continuous expand of the scale of tourism industry, the influence of tourist activities on the water quality in scenic spot is also growing, and the problems of water enviroment is more and more serious. Such issues attracted the attention of many scholars, who made fruitful researches on them. But overall, China's current study on the water environment is still relatively few, which is necessary to be further strengthened. In this paper, we took the West Lake as our study area. On the basis of classification of tourists'activities, we chose temperature, PH, DO, EC, NH3-N, TP as test indexes. impacts of tourism activities'type and intensity are discussed from space-time degree by the means of field surveying, sample collecting, lab analyzing, experiment simulating and perception interviewing. The conclusion is as follows: (1)Through measuring the water quality in West Lake from December of2010to September of2011with temperature, PH, EC, DO, TUR as test indexes, we found that there exists difference between weekends and working days. Compare with PH and temperature, EC, DO and TUR have a relatively greater difference and can better reflect how the water quality is, so we made a further analysis on the three indexes. The result shows that the average EC, TUR in weekends is bigger than those in working days, while the result of DO is smaller in weekends. The smaller EC and TUR are, and the bigger DO is, the better water is. So the water in working days is better than in weekends. As EC, DO and TUR would be affected by tourist'reception facilities such as restaurant, hotel and viewing boats on the lake, such activities in weekends is more than in working days. So the water quality has a positive correlation with tourist activities, and in short time, tourist activity has an influence on water quality.Compare the result of EC, DO and TUR with the number of tourist month by month and making correlation test on them, we found there isn't a significant correlation between the two kinds of results. Therefore, in the long term, tourist activity has no obvious affect on water quality.(2) We collected sample in eight sites around the lake on September,2011. After analysis, we get following conclusions:1. The color, smell and suspended substance in water is still good and can meet the demand of viewing.2. The NH3-N and TP in West Lake is higher than normal and they differ from site to site. Suffering the affects of catering, lodging and vehicle exhaust, The value of NH3-N and TP in children's palace, Nanshan road and NO.5park dork where there is more facilities is bigger than other sites. Exclude the affect of water flow, such difference still exists. Therefore, the conclusion that tourist activity has an influence on NH3-N and TP can be made.3. the value of TUR in outer lake is bigger than interior lake. Because there are more boats on outer lake than the interior lake, the intensity of boating activity is bigger in the outer lake. The similarity between TUR and boating activity shows boat has an influence on TUR.4. The result of the analysis shows the change of NH3-N, TP is flat while the TUR is volatile. This means TUR is more sensitive to tourist activities.(3)From the results of spatial analysis and long term test, we can find that tourist activities has influence on water quality in short time, and they are positive correlated.. But in a long period, such influence is not obvious. The result of spatial analysis illustrate tourist activities of different kinds and intensity will affect different indexes of water qualities.
