The Empirical Research Of Rural Infrastructure's Impact On The Export Competitiveness Of Agricultural Products

Agriculture is the foundation of our national economy sectors and agricultural trade plays an important role in China's foreign trade. After entering WTO, China's agricultural exports has reached a new phase of growth, it means China is faced with opportunities as well as challenges. So far, China's foreign trade in agricultural products have appeared the trade deficit For five consecutive years, how to improve the export competitiveness of agricultural products is becoming one of the focus of academic concern. In foreign countries, some relevant academic papers have studied and analysed the infrastructure and the export competitiveness respectively, but none of research findings have shown the internal relation of the infrastructure and the export competitiveness.In this paper, on the basic of studying the relevant academic papers, I preliminary elaborate the mechanism of rural infrastructure's impact on the export competitiveness of agricultural products..Besides, by selecting the relevant data of2000to2010China's31provinces and cities, I build an evaluation index system of rural infrastructure and agricultural export competitiveness and design a Panel-Data model which does help to the empirical study on the impact of the rural infrastructure factors of each region on the export competitiveness of agricultural products, the rural infrastructure factors in the paper refers to institution building in rural areas, the level of agricultural mechanization, rural transport and communication and the commercialize degree of the agricultural product. The results show that the institution building in rural areas, the level of agricultural mechanization, rural transport and communication have remarkable impact on the export competitiveness of agricultural products.. From the perspective of31regions, there are28regions' rural infrastructure have great influence on the export competitiveness of agricultural products. It shows that the rural infrastructure indeed has great impact on the export competitiveness of agricultural products. In the end, according to the empirical results, I propose some policy recommendations on the how to speed up infrastructure construction in areas and how to improve the export competitiveness of agricultural products.
