With the advent of new era of the21st century, China's economic de-velopment has entered the era of rapid development, Beijing as the capitalcity of china, urban construction and economic development has been at theforefront of the provinces and cities of nationwide. In promoting rapid eco-nomic development of Beijing, The trade activities of input and output havealways played an important role. At the same time the total energy con-sumption is also growing with the economic development. Beijing is a citylack of natural resources, especially energy resources, which means that thecontradiction of energy supply and demand of Beijing will continue to dee-pen in the future, and further affect the future economic development ofBeijing. For output goods (including transferred out and export) of Beijing, not only a lot of energy products of native city have been consumed, but al-so while intermediate products (including the production of the city, trans-ferred and imported) as raw material have inputted, it is mean that largeamounts of energy products have consumed indirectly. Therefore the re- search for embodied energy of Beijing commodities of input and output cancontribute to know clearly the structure and industry characteristics ofcommodities for Beijing. In this paper, use the input-output analysis methods, from the perspec-tive of embodied energy, based on the amount of input and output of goodsof Beijing1997,2000,2002,2005and2007input-output tables, and energyconsumption data from energy balance to estimate the embodied energy ofthe input and output goods of Beijing Over the years. The estimation results show that the some sectors, especially intensityof industrial sectors' embodied energy are higher, in addition, the embodiedenergy of input and output commodities of Beijing presented an increasingtrend, and the embodied energy of energy-intensive products account for alarge proportion, and scale expansion of non-energy-intensive products in-put and output has also led to increase of embodied energy from goods ofinput and output in Beijing. After Estimated input and output of goods embodied energy of years, this paper also use the method of factor decomposition analysis to analyzethe factors that lead to change of embodied energy of input and outputcommodities over the years in Beijing. The analysis results show that Scaleeffect and structure effect play a leading role in the change of embodiedenergy from Beijing 's input and output commodities over the years. Last, this paper have gave some Suggestions for improvement based on the resultof research.
