This paper analyzes the condition of energy consumption and the import and exportduring international trade (including energy trade) in China under no consideration ofembodied energy. And then basing on the co-integration of industries we calculate theembodied energy of each industries during the export trade using the method of input-output,but for we can’t acquire the exact total demand coefficient of industries in the import trade, the article both measures the top and button of import embodied energy of industries throughtotal demand coefficient of energy of our country and adjusted Japan, the result shows that:The importance of embodied energy in the trade is huge and can’t be neglected. In the aspectof export, the embodied energy reached846.9069million ton criterion coal in2007, whichwas30.19percent of our total energy consumption and8.47times of our direct energy export, and excepting the export embodied energy decreased in2002, they increased in other years; The import embodied energy most reached684.4429million ton criterion coal, which was24.40percent of our total energy consumption and1.95times of our direct energy import.Though the comparison of import and export embodied energy, that is under the considerationof embodied energy, the net export of energy was positive in the years of2000,2005and2007, which meant our country actually was net energy export country. But during the yearsof1995,1997and2002, we can’t judge the real situation of the energy trade. And then, basedon the calculation of the embodied energy in the trade, this paper further studies the effectfactors on the embodied energy using the method of LMDI. The result indicates that: nomatter the export or import embodied energy, the scale effect is the most important factor onthe change of the total embodied energy. The second important factor belongs to thetechnology effect, which was negative during the period of the first four years. That meant thetechnology level of energy was improved continuously even considering the embodied energy,so the energy of each product was decreasing, and the improved technology level of energy isgood for saving the export energy. The last effect factor is structural effect, whose could bepositive or negative. That meant the industries structure is still in the state of adjusting. At last, this essay puts forward some suggestions about how to decrease the lost of our energy andhow to release the dependence of other countries’ energy import through three aspects ofenergy policy, industry policy and trade policy.
