The Research Of Obstacle For Developing The Cross Border Self Driving Tourism Of Kunming Bangkok Road By Travel Agency

With the advance of China's strategy to build Yunnan Province into a Gateway and the construction of international channel, the cross-border self driving tourism in Yunnan Province is coming to the actual operational level from the strategic level. The completion of the Kunming-Bangkok International channel especially creates a good traffic environment for the development of the cross border self driving tourism in China, Laos, Thailand. But as a product of cross-border self driving tourism, the obstacles still exist for the Kunming-Bangkok travel line at the actual operational level.In this study, the depth interviews, experience surveys and web-based survey methods are adopted to investigate, respectively, from four aspects including tourists, organizers, via countries and administration; the obstacles existing in the Kunming-Bangkok Highway cross-border self-driving tour. Based on the results, the obstacles in four aspects will be analysised in-depth, and the countermeasures will be proposed:1, The obstacle for self-driving tourists and the countermeasures The lack of traffic safety and personal and property security; the cumbersome entry and exit procedures; the high cost of time and expenses is the major obstacle to self-driving tourists. On that account, it is recommended that travel agencies standardize services, ensure the safety of cross-border self driving tourists; improve the service system, and offer the tourists a convenient, efficient self driving tour.2, The obstacles for passing three countries and the countermeasures The poor road conditions and the lack of related facilities in Laos bring a lot of barriers of accessibility for self driving tourists. In Thailand, the driving right habit is different with that in China and Laos, which increase both the difficulty and the risk of cross-border self driving. For these obstacles via the countries, it is recommended that travel agencies could attach importance to the field trips, arrange the proper travel journey, offer the reasonable and feasible Kunming-Bangkok cross-border self driving tour products to meet the market demand.3, The obstacle of the organizers and the countermeasures At the travel agency level, the analysis indicates that the high operating costs and the higher operational risks is the major obstacle to organize the Kunming-Bangkok cross-border self driving tour. It is recommended that the travel agency cooperate with the enterprises.4, The obstacle of administration and the supporting measures The lack of relevant laws®ulations and supportive policy is the biggest obstacle at the level of Administration. Our government needs to complete the relevant laws and regulations, formulate the appropriate protection and rescue mechanisms; the government of three states also need to consult mutually to provide the supportive policy for the development of Kunming-Bangkok cross-border self driving tourism.The study of the obstacle for Kunming-Bangkok Highway cross-border self driving tour, is not only conducive to promoting the development of the Kunming-Bangkok cross-border self driving tourism, but also provide the theoretic and practical basis for travel agencies to develop Kunming-Bangkok Highway cross-border self driving tour products. In the mean time, to the benefit of travel agencies, they could develop the differentiated products combined with their own advantages, and find another way in the fierce market competition environment.The results of this study will enrich the scope of the China Self Driving Tourism products.
