Kunming-Bangkok Highway (R3A or R3E) is the road which has been connected South of China, Laos and Thailand in 2008. This route will be the important route in trading, investment and service in the future.I interested to research about Kunming-Bangkok Highway (R3A or R3E) which start from Kunming, Yunnan, China pass Luang Namtha, Laos to a capital of Thailand, Bangkok because I have studied master degree in China, I am Thai people, I would like to know the economics benefit from established R3A road and get some deep information to develop my country. Nowadays, I think the main problem of this road is Thailand cannot take the potential benefit from this road and a lot of Thai people have not known the economics advantages from this road. This leads to Thai people and entrepreneurs are not enthusiastic to take the benefit from this highway. Therefore, the thesis’s objective is study the economics benefit from R3A highway, study the potential benefit of Thai entrepreneur from this highway and suggest Thai government should do some policy to take more benefit from this highway. By I apply the models and theories to analyze this research. For instance, Von Thune’s regional land use model describes about the price of land depends on the different location. The Losch market area analysis, this theory explains expanding of market which results from the lower transportation costs and agglomeration economies. Moreover, I went to this area to collect data and information (Field Research).This thesis includes several chapters. Firstly, this paper describes the history of this road and general information in each area such as the population number, GDP per capita, investment and changing the economics’structure. Then, it explains about FTA ASEAN- China and ASEAN Economics Community (AEC) which support the economic activity in this area such as trading, service and investment.The important chapter of this research is the model and theory which analysis many economic benefit from construction a new road and a new Mekong bridge. This thesis is applied with Von Thunen Model, Losch market area analysis or Losch’s central place theory and Agglomeration Economies to tell readers about affect mechanism of land price, trading value, number of traveler, investment and standard of living. Therefore, readers will get economics’ knowledge step by step which is easily to understand. Moreover, this paper analyses the economics statistic, which can confirm the several advantages from this highway, such as trading value of Thai fruit at Chiang Kong Custom Port. However, this paper is not only mentioned about fruit sector but also readers can get the knowledge in different sectors such as flowers, petroleum (oil) and logistics. Then, this thesis explains to the potential benefit of Thai entrepreneur in several sectors which can take the advantage from this road.Besides, this thesis has added the Pan Asia Railway Network, which is the fast train from Kunming, China, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia to Singapore. This route will be finished in the future then this rail will be an enormous impact on ASEAN member countries. Lastly, this paper would suggest some policy to Thai government. In order to Thailand can take more benefit from this highway. I am confident this paper can make a lot of knowledge to readers who interested in trading between Thailand and South of China (Yunnan) and the public infrastructure network among ASEAN member countries.
