In the traditional land consolidation planning, people mainly do the land consolidationwork by two-dimensional topographic map or the map describe current land using. But therethree obvious flaws about a two-dimensional map. Firstly, it is not sufficiently precise thatusing two-dimensional map to describe the real three-dimensional world. In order toguarantee the rationality and feasibility of the planning, the projector largely depend on lots ofinformation in addition to the map. Secondly, land leveling project is a major project in landconsolidation, and it is depend on the real3D terrain entity. In the2D environment, landleveling project is lack of vivacity, authenticity and poor spatial correlation, so that theprecision and progress of land leveling project can not be guaranteed. The third, terrainmodifying will happen when doing the land consolidation element layout. This land levelingwork is a independent project in traditional land consolidation planning, and it can not bedone as the consolidation element layout, so that the efficiency of land consolidation isreduced. Thus, three-dimensional is the necessary way to land consolidation planning.The primary task of3D land consolidation planning is to build a3D scene, andthree-dimensional terrain model is the basic part of this3D scene. The establishment ofthree-dimensional terrain model in land consolidation becomes more and more prominent. It’sused to land leveling project, earthwork calculation, land element layout, land planning anddesign, etc; and all these projects involve the terrain modify. In recent days, it is a difficultythat modifying three-dimensional terrain dynamically. The paper do some research onthree-dimensional terrain modify in order to realize the modify on three-dimensional terrainmodel in land consolidation planning.Therefore, the paper has make a technical route to realize the three-dimensional terrainmodel editing. The first step is to simulate the terrain of project area by using TIN modelingmethod on the elevation points which was picked up in the basic map. The second step is toadd limited boundary which will be used to constrain the TIN model; and at the same time,another TIN model of the limited boundary will has been built. Thirdly, the step is to connectthe original TIN and the new limited TIN to realize the editing of terrain model. Finally,rendering the3D scene to enhance the visualization degree of three-dimensional terrain.
