Study On Wave Front Phase Modulation And Polarization Modulation

In the optical information processing systems, phase setting ofwavefront can change the optical properties of optical systems in focal pointarea. And it has wild range research meaning and application value inphotomemery、optical microcavity and singular optical area. This paper, basedon the properties of wavefront phase setting, introduces all kinds ofapplications of phase plate modulator at the present stage, and designs somenew type phase plates combining with specific field. Last part of the articleintrouduces the correlation theory and concept of polarize modulation anddesigns the polarize converter made by polarize film to realizenonhomogeneous polarize modulation of input beams and its experimentsystem. Following are the main contents of this paper:1. Correlation theory and concept of phase plate has been introduced, andthe applications of all kinds of phase plates in various fields at present stagehas been collected and arranged.2. An phase-only filter phase mask placed on the objective pupil plane ispresented. The energy distributions of maximum intensity peak and othersmall intensity peaks will change by altering frequency parameter or phasevariation parameter of the phase mask. Moreover, novel focal patterns alsoevolves considerably. Increas frequency parameter and the phase variance ofphase mask, the move direction of the focal shift may change.3. On the basis of radial Hilbert transform theory, the generalized Hilberttransform theory advanced by Soo-Chang Pei et al has been adopted, and wedesigned two kinds of phase plates to relized the edge detection with definitedirection and definite angle, pilot processing had been emulated by Matlabsoftware, and obtained the experiment results.4. Polarize converter,which is made by polarize film,can realize nonhomogeneous modulation of input beam by setting the polarize converterin the light path, a specific realization light path is put up, and some converteffection figures which are accord with expectation theory have been obtainedin the basis of actual experiment.
