Geospatial determines that a variety of geographic learning activities and a variety of geographic thinking activities are all carried out with the various forms of space. Therefore, in order to learn geography well, we must train students geospatial capabilities. Geospatial analysis capability is one of the important elements of geospatial capabilities, The formation and development of geospatial analysis capabilities is of great significance to geography study and geographic problem solving. However, the current secondary school teaching of geography is relatively weak in developing studetns’capacity for geospatial analysis, and students’geospatial analysis capabilities are low. GIS features powerful mapping, spatial query, spatial analysis and visualization functions, Spatial information in GIS is different from other information systems, in that GIS can directly reflects spatial distribution of the things and phenomenons, analyzes and compare the spaces, provide a comprehensive analysis tools to solve geographic problems, and offer visual expression. It has the advantage of train geospatial analysis capabilities from all perspectives. Therefore, to explore how to use GIS to train high school students geospatial analytical skills is very necessary.Firstly, by reading a large number of theoretical literature, the definition of Geospatial analysis capabilities is given, including the geo-spatial structure analysis capabilities, and geospatial analysis capabilities and geospatial analysis capabilities of three elements. Developing high school students geospatial analysis capabilities is a must in order to implement the new geography curriculum standards, train Geography capacity, teach students how to study geography effectively.Secondly, in this paper, comprehensive analysis of the use of GIS electronic maps, graphics, visualization, and spatial analysis to develop geo-spatial structure of the high school students, comparative and comprehensive analysis capabilities are mentioned theoretically, the teaching strategies using GIS map display operation to strengthen the spatial query is summarized, a variety of thematic maps is produced, two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics is conversed, and overlaying shadow and the establishment of various buffer are covered. Third, based on the3elements of he geo-spatial analysis capabilities as well as the new curriculum standards which combines with the five versions of high school geography textbooks, this paper applies he distribution of the world’s climate, the regional development differences and the impact of China’s population distribution " from the textbook of The physical geography, regional and human geography section as examples of design cases to explore the ways to use the GIS map, spatial query, spatial analysis and visualization features to improve high school students geospatial analysis capabilities, providing reference for the research on the improvement of geospatial analysis development of high school students. Finally, according to the status quo, the current GIS teaching problems in secondary schools are brought out, such as the problem of the GIS software, data, teaching philosophy of using GIS, teachers, the degree of attention and classroom teaching and learning mode. And some solutions concerning GIS teaching software, the case library, classroom teaching and learning models to supplement teachers and concerns of GIS applications in the life are proposed in this paper.
