With the rapid development of economy, more and more food safety problems have been revealed, and then further triggered crisis of agricultural production and food safety which made more and more people from all sectors of society paid wide attention on the problem. Under the background of people’s eager to the advanced and safe agricultural production mode, the development and research of the organic agriculture, one of the environmental friendly agriculture, in the long term for our country, and even the whole human social development have very important significance. So organic agriculture worth researching intensively.Organic agriculture as one of the types of modern agriculture, not only to emphasize the production mode and the production process in harmony with the natural ecological environment, but also to emphasize scientificity, rationality and Predictability, to realize the digitization, informatization, precision and full process control of the organic agricultural production. With the development of science and technology,3S technology, as a representative of the spatial information technology also has achieved great progress. Its application also developed rapidly, particularly in the agricultural field, the space information technology has incomparable advantage and great potential. Based on the space information technology and construct the geographic information platform, a comprehensive and fine research of organic agriculture can be achieved.The paper researches organic agriculture by means of spatial Information technology and from the angle of time and space. It mainly includes two aspects. One is organic agricultural development planning of Zitong. Aonther one is the design and the development of traceability information system of organic agricultural products in Zitong. Two aspects are based on the spatial information technology.The planing of the location, layout and cultivation of organic agricultural production base can be finished by means of the application of GIS technology and several planning index and factors of comprehensive consideration and analysis.Application of GIS technology and EAN/UCC bar code technology, combining with organic agricultural production base of the space planning achievements, the identity codes of producers and the circulation retroactive codes of organic agricultural products have been designed. The traceability information system of organic agricultural products has also been designed and developed by means of Visual c#and ArcGIS Engine, and the integrated application of database technology.The research results of the paper take the experimental plot in Zitong, Mianyang, Sichuan province as an example, of which the space planning of organic agricultural production base has stepped into the stage of implementation. The feasibility of the design and development of organic agricultural products traceability information system has been verified.The research results show that, giving full play to the characteristics and functions of the science and technology, and combining with the production practice and social demand, the science and technology will truly transfer into productive. It provides the motivation and support to local economic development and the agricultural informatization progress. It is also an inevitable choice to adhere to the scientific development and construct a harmonious society.
