Global Positioning System (GPS) has brought a revolution in the field of electronic navigation, it has many advantages of precision, all-weather, global coverage capability is unmatched by other navigation equipment.It is because of these advantages of the GPS, making it a geophysical survey of a trend, but in the geophysical survey using GPS positioning, the measurement data in real time can not pass back to base and found that the error can not be promptly corrected, wasting a lot of manpower, resources. The perfect combination of GPRS technology with GPS technology, a good solution to this problem.This paper first introduces the development of GPS and GPRS technology, describes the development status of geophysical survey; and then details the overall design philosophy of the GPS-GPRS positioning system hardware, the hardware resources used, and use of these resources designed unit of the circuit; introduced the GPS-GPRS positioning system software system design process, and module procedures; then describes the overall design of the monitoring center, workflow, andprocess of communication with the terminal; GPS-GPRS positioning system in a geophysical measurement of the actual work to be applied to obtain a better practical effect.The results of this study verify the value of the promotion and application of related technologies, has been continuous improvement and will greatly improve thetechnical level of the geophysical industry, thereby improving the operational efficiency, enhance its competitiveness, the study has significant economic benefits.The practical application proves that the system has a strong practical value. Through continuous improvement and perfect, will greatly improve the technical level of the geophysical industry, thereby improving the operational efficiency, enhance its competitiveness.
