Urban land is the basis of economic development of the city,it is economic,cultural,social andother activities of the carrier.Now,With the rapid growth of the national economy, the rapidexpansion of the urban population will inevitably result in increased demand for residentialland.While the majority of city of our country land is limited, the serious phenomenon of idle andwasted land,to meet the diverse needs of the residents living,intensive utilization of residentialland is the inevitable choice to the sustainable development of economy and to improve theefficiency of land use in China.In this paper, Langfang City in2010for the study of residential land, residential land useanalysis of the situation in recent years and the problems: land idle situation is more serious,unreasonable standards developed residential land, residential land use intensity is not high,farmland a serious loss and so on.And base on the road grid as evaluation units.This paperestablish evaluation index system through selecting input the degree of reasonablestructure,functional state of equilibrium and comprehensive benefit status3class index,and theproportion of residential land,the volume of residential,population density,the average floor andresidential land price level13secondary indexes.Based on remote sensing data and fieldinvestigation,using remote sensing image processing software ENVI and geographic informationsystem ARCGIS software,the intensive use of residential land in Langfang were studied bymultiple comprehensive evaluation and analytic hierarchy process to measure the intensity of eachresidential land evaluation unit.Thus divided into four low-use type and time and space from theresults of the evaluation carried out a detailed analysis. For low to moderate use and potential useof unit studies, volume rate of land through the planning allows potential estimates, derived fromthe high, medium and low three potential types of analysis that can tap the potential of eachevaluation unit number and distribution.The results show that:Land intensive use level higher living in Langfang City,and is increasing year by year.Spatialdifferences and significant feature of the whole, the level of intensive use of Anci region is higherthan that of Guangyang District.Moderate utilization and low use of plots mainly exits pedestrianstreet in the north of the city of Langfang, the intensive use and high utilization of land is mainlydistributed in the town and nearby railway. Although the intensive use level is higher, but there is still much potential space, moderatepotential area of the largest area.And the high potential areas and the moderate potential mainlytypes to low utilization, low potential areas with moderate use types.Residential land area ofpotential space significant difference,performance is higher than Anci district Guangyangdistrict,unit area potential of Guangyang district are mainly distributed in the pedestrian street tothe north, showing the North South high-low trend.Langfang overall intensive residential land is high, but there is still a large potential foruse; the Area residential land intensive in varying degrees, the potential distribution is also quitedifferent.Both sides of the city center and the railway intensive high potential small; pedestrianstreet north of the low intensity and great potential.Therefore, to determine the future direction ofdevelopment of Langfang City, consistent with the reality.
