With the popularization of senior high school education and expansion of enrollment, thequality of new students entering the normal schools of special education declines continuously.Consequently, various difficulties occur in major learning and basic cultural courses,especially in mathematics learning.Based on relevant studies and through the ways of questionnaire survey and individualinterview of the normal students majoring in special education, the thesis analyzes the causesof difficulties in mathematics learning and proposes pertinent improvement strategies. As anoverview, Chapter I states the background, purpose, significance of the research as well as theprinciple problems and research methods. As a literature review, Chapter II reviews theresearch results on learning difficulties including the definition of the normal studentsmajoring in special education with mathematics learning difficulties, and research history&development of mathematics learning difficulties. Chapter III investigates and analyzes thesituation and motivation of the normal students majoring in special education, and interviewsthose five-year students with mathematics learning difficulties, and analyzes the factorsincluding intelligence, non-intelligence, teaching and environment. Chapter IV proposes theresolution strategies for the converting of the normal students with mathematics learningdifficulties, with the aim to improve the quality of teaching and learning of mathematics in thenormal schools of special education.
