| The aim of this thesis is the synthesis of new coordination polymers on the basis ofdicarboxylic acid (2-(carboxymethoxy)benzoic acid,2,2′-(1,3-phenylenedioxy)bis(acetate),catechol-O,O-diacetic acid, and hydroquinone-O,O’-diacetic acid), N-donor ligands andmetal ions. The study on synthetic conditions and rules for these new compounds,topological analyses, and the exploration of the relationships between structures andproperties for these compounds are also carried out.Fifteen new coordination polymers have been synthesized on the basis of hydrothermaltechnique and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR, XRPD, TG and singlecrystal X-ray diffractions. The thermal stabilities and fluorescet activity of thesecompounds have been studied.1. Five new ZnIIand CdIImetal-organic coordination polynmers with a noveldicarboxyl tecton H2cmb and different flexible N,N’-donor co-ligands have beensynthesized and structurally characterized, which show diverse supramoleculararchitectures such as the4-fold interpenetrating66-dia net for1, rare1D→3Dpolycatenated framework for2,2D puckered44-sql layer for3and the2D (3,4)-connectedhelical pattern for4,2D→3D parallel polycatenation constructed by twofold anti-parallelinterpenetration of a double-layer for5:{[Zn(cmb)(dpa)]·H2O}n(1){[Zn(cmb)(bpp)]·2.5H2O}n(2){[Zn(cmb)(bimb)]·3H2O}n(3){[Cd2(cmb)2(bimb)]·H2O}n(4){[Cd(cmb)(bix)]}n(5)2. Seven3-D metal-organic frameworks with an axial symmetrical dicarboxyl tecton2,2′-(1,3-phenylenedioxy)bis(acetate) and different flexible N,N’-donor co-ligands havebeen synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound6is interdigitated architecturesconstructed by two dimensional layers. The structure of7and10consist of novel2Dtwo-fold interpenetrated4-sql net generated by2-crossing [2]-catenane motif. Compound8shows a parallel packing mode constructed by alternating heterochiral helixes.Compound9shows shows a three-fold interpenetrating α-Po frameworks. Compound11shows a3D supramolecular packing of2D puckered44-sql layers. Compound12is aninteresting3D supramolecular frameworks constructed by1D supramolecular loop: {[Cd2(1,3-pdoa)2(dpa)3(H2O)]}n(6){[Cd(1,3-pdoa)(bpp)(H2O)]·2H2O}n(7){[Cd(1,3-pdoa)(bix)]}n(8){[Cd(1,3-pdoa)(bimb)]·H2O}n(9){[Zn2(1,3-pdoa)2(bpp)2(H2O)]·4H2O}n(10){[Zn2(1,3-pdoa)2(bix)2]}n(11){[Zn(1,3-pdoa)(bimb)]·2H2O}n(12)3.
