Coal spontaneous combustion disaster is serious in our country. Especially for theunderground mining; the air loss and the float coal quantity are very large, which increase thespontaneous combustion danger in gob.The Wang-Cun mine is located in Cheng-He digging region.The5#coal seam is mosteasily spontaneous combustion. Therefore, there have been many coal spontaneouscombustion accidents. Based on the coal spontaneous combustion condition; the researchwork would combine the numerical simulation, field observation and experiment, which isused to find out the coal structure character, limit parameters of coal self-ignition, the O2andthe air leakage distribution law. In this paper, the13519working face gob in Chenghe coalmine of Shanxi province was taken as example. The main conclusions could be obtained asfollows:(1)The5#coal body is unconsolidated. The shape of pore is irregular and it ranged in themiddle pore level, which have the coal body structure character of the spontaneous coal.(2)The critical temperature of the5#coal is ranged from55℃to65℃, the crackingtemperature is ranged from120℃to135℃,the fission temperature is160℃.Also, two keyparameters of coal spontaneous combustion would be got, least float coal is about0.7metersand the shortest spontaneous combustion times are33days.(3)The numerical simulation work was also given the basic parameters data. Ventilationleakage condition and the oxygen concentration distribution law are analyzed. The maxoxidation zone is100meters. Meanwhile, the changes of oxygen concentration, the airseepage velocity are studied in different amount of wind. Also, it studied the change ofself-heating zone. Some conclusions can be summarized: when the air volume changed400m3/min, the self-heating zone will also change from22meters to32meters. (4)Combining the filed observation and experiment, the self-heating zone can bedivided from22meters to126meters on the side of the intake airflow roadway, and on theside of the return airway, it is from13meters to76meters.By the research results, it can give the prevention work a direction for the coal mine. Thepractical value can also be obviously showed.
