Resistance welding technology is widely used in modern industrial manufacture,but the data management of resistance welding resources is still mainly depended onpaper files, resulting in fragmentation, repetitiveness and inconsistency of datadistribution. In order to improve the effective sharing of resistance weldinginformation, a software application is designed for the rational management ofresistance welding information. The purpose is to design a Resistance WeldingProduction Management Database System, which is based on Client/Server structurewith a combination of database technology, software engineering ideas andobject-oriented technology.Based on the analysis of current situation of welding database, through in-depthresearch on users and discussion with welding technical personnel, according to therequirements of resistance welding information integration management, combinedwith the characteristics of database, and the functions and structure of the system. Anoverall structure frame of database management system was constructed with SQLServer. Resistance welding database framework includes a material base, a methodbase, an equipment base and an operator archives base.With SQL Server2005as a platform, the standardized design method of E-Rmodel and PowerDesigner tools for data modeling were used to develop a resistancewelding structure; at the same time, user-friendly operation interfaces were realizedon Visual Studio2005platform with a visual programming tool, Visual C#.The system used the database technique for computer management of resistancewelding data, including welding materials, welding equipments, electrodes, processparameters, joint properties, welding standards, surface processing before welding,operators file data information for spot welding, seam welding, projection welding,butt welding in the production process. The system realized browsing, query, printingand other operations of resistance welding process, equipments and other relatedinformation.Results show that system classifies scientifically the resistance weldingproduction management information, offers many efficient searching methods forresistance welding data and realizes effective data base management.
