Static cooling auxiliary dry milling is a new type of dry cutting technology. It conveyed air to milling area after the ventilation with air compression, the ionization and ozone and develop a special gas atmosphere. These gases formed between a thin layer of oxidation film for cooling and lubrication. TC11 titanium alloy has the following characteristics that strength is higher, in the high temperature environment to creep resistance and thermal strong performance is better, chemical properties more active. The low milling speed and poor durability of cutting tools, leading to the titanium alloy TC11 milling difficult. As above shortcomings, we study this new technology. This paper through a large number of experiments, the test results indicate that if use the static cooling auxiliary dry milling technology, the milling efficiency and material surface quality will be improved. The cutting tool durability improve a times more.This paper studies the features of dry cutting and the key technology, we developed this static cooling auxiliary dry milling device basised Townsend theory Pasehen law .The milling equipment system including external power supply device system, parallel electrostatic field device system, air compression device system etc. On the basis of studying milling performance of titanium alloy TC11, we optimized our milling cutter materials, cutter geometrical angles, milling parameters, and we select the best parameters for milling experiments. The result indicates that if we select the same milling parameters in different conditions milling. Static cooling auxiliary dry milling will reduce the effective milling regions of the temperature. The quality of the work piece surface will be improved, milling force than conventional milling force fell by 50% and the temperature drop clearly.This paper used the ANASYS analysis software to simulate the process of milling titanium alloy TC11 by static cooling auxiliary dry milling. Through the comparation simulation data and practical data, we obtain cutting characteristics. It will play a guiding role in practice.
