Engine connecting rod bushing is connected to the piston pin and connecting rod smallend parts.Its role is to avoid direct contact between connecting rod small end and piston pin toprevent stress concentration and failure to extend the life of the connecting rod.The spinningprocess is a small and non-cutting process,which is applicable to the production of manyvarieties.The spinning process has the features of high precision of workpiece size,goodsurface quality,high material utilization,wide range of products,Energy saving andenvironmental protection,The spinning process has been widely applied in the field ofmachinery, petrochemical,military and aerospace.Therefore,in order to improve themechanical properties of the connecting rod bush, the spinning process for the production ofrod bushing is most appropriate.The spinning process is a very complicated plastic forming process.The processparameters are numerous and complex.In production, control of process parameters mainlyrely on experience or trial,which brings many of the subjective effects into production.Thismethod led to many defects such as long production cycle, the material waste,the productioncost of production.So the research of forming mechanism of the spinning process is verynecessary.The spinning lined process and process parameters are studied using the method offinite element numerical simulation in this paper.The main contents of paper are as follows:The object of this paper is the spinning of the rod bushing.In the spinning module ofmetal forming finite element the platform SIMUFACT,the mandrel and the roller areconsidered as a rigid body.Billet is divided into mesh using tube meshing tools in the software.Material data is set using elastic-plastic theory,which is closed to reality.The movement of themold and the appropriate boundary condition are loaded into the mandrel.So the three-dimensional finite element mod is established,which maximum close to the actual.Thepaper has simulated the spinning process using the elastic-plastic finite element method,anddraw conclusions of the distribution of stress and strain in the steady state,the changes ofrotary pressure,the flow of materials,the accumulation of material,which clearly illustrates thespinning process of the forming process.The process parameters of the stagger spinning and non- stagger spinning of cylindricalpart are researched in this paper.The influence law of the operating angle of the roller,theroller fillet radius,die feed rate,spindle speed,clearance of the roller and the mandrel,billettemperature,thinning rate,the axial spacing and radial distance between the roller are obtainedunder the circumstances of stagger spinning and non- stagger spinning.So the paper hasprovided reference for the choice of parameters for the spinning rod bushing.
