Recently, the deep desulfurization for fuel is of important significance in the prot ection of environment. In this paper, Y-zeolites modified with metals are prepared by i on-exchange method under microwave and their performance of static and dynamic de sulfurization was evaluated. Regeneration for these adsorbents saturated by thiophene was studied shortly.NaY zeolite was exchanged with Cu2+, Ag+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Ce3+in nitrate aqueous solution, which is assisted by microwave. During the evaluation in static and dynamic desulfurization, CuY zeolite of great adsorption capacity, good selectivity, low cost has been sieved as excellent adsorbent. Preparing technique was optimized by changing the ratio of Si/Al, activation and ion-exchanging conditions. CuY zeolite prepared when Cu loading is mg/g, Si/Al=6.4and activation is at600℃for5h, presents static sulfur capacity of19.3mg/g, and of qbreakthrough and qsaturation, as dynamic sulfur capacity,40.0mg/g and52.7mg/g, respectively. XRD, XPS and BET characterizations showed that Cu2+species can be partly reduced to Cu+which is active for the adsorption of thiophene, and Y zeolite crystalline structure make CuY possess large surface area, porous structure and acidic performance. FT-IR analysis showed that Cu species can interact with thiophene to form π-complex. Further modified with Ce ion-exchange under microwave, CeCuY presents almost the same static sulfur capacity as CuY does, indicating no effects of Ce on desulfurization performance of CuY.The CuY zeolite saturated with thiophene was regenerated for desulfurization shortly. The experimental results showed that atmosphere, temperature, time all affect the efficiency of desulfurization.
