PC/ABS alloy is a kind of high performance engineering plastics. Because of its good processability and excellent resistance to impact, it has been widely used in the areas of production and daily life. Currently, PC/ABS alloy is mainly used for processing large area or complex engineering plastics products as well as engineering plastics parts which have excellent resistance to impact high, low temperature.In this paper, the emulsion graft polymerization is adopted to synthesis high toughening efficiency of stem grafting ABS powder, and by adjusting the ABS resin viscosity and the PC viscosity matching, we can control the material structure of PC/ABS alloy, as well as improve its performance. In the small-scale test, effects of some factors such as ABS graft powder glue content, initiator dosage, molecular weight regulator dosage, powder composition of monomer, monomer dropping time were all studied on stem grafting mixture. And then, the scaling effect of stem grafting polymerization, including stirring speed, monomer premixed condition, latex particle size and other factors on the latex monomer conversion to determine the appropriate form and the speed of stirring were also studied. At last, the effect of powder on the mechanical performance of stem grafting mixture was studied, and the reaction conditions of the test were optimized. By studying and optimizing the formula and technology of mixing PC, ABS powder and SAN resin, a good experiment was carried out, and PC/ABS alloy with good performance index was produced.
