This subject presents a new conception, through the design method of the molecular structure,-CH2COO-were introduced in to the aminoethyl and aminopropyl side chains of frequently-used fabric softener-amino-silicone and the new side chains will form the structure like iminodiacetic acid [-N(CH2COOH)2] or EDTA (ethylenediamine tetraacetate) when pH value less than5. These side chains can chelate silver ion so as to make amino silicone emulsion has antibacterial properties. The anion modified amino-silicone is synthesized through two different fabrications processes-bulk polymerization and emulsion polymerization, the optimum reaction material ratio and reaction conditions is confirmed after repetitive experiments.The experimental result shows that the anion modified amino-silicone prepared in this paper can chelate silver ion excellently, fabric treated by the silicone-silver latex has very good antibacterial properties. The best process conditions of each step of silicone-silver latex preparation is:Bulk polymerization:The best catalyst is tetramethylammonium hydroxide(25%aqueous solution), the dosage of sodium chloroacetate:dosage of amino silicone oil=2:125; the reaction temperature is80℃, reaction time is8-10h. The best emulsion system is composed of fatty alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether:isomerism-alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether=1:2.Emulsion polymerization:The best catalyst is tetramethylammonium hydroxide(25%aqueous solution), the dosage of sodium chloroacetate:dosage of amino silicone oil=2:125; the reaction temperature is80℃, reaction time is8-10h.The biggest innovation point of this paper is sodium acetate group was introduced into the double amino side chains of the amino silicone through molecular design and form new side chain which has the structure similar to EDTA, this structure can chelate silver ions to provide antibacterial effect. This way makes fabric antibacterial finishing step no longer need to choose additional silver carrier, choose the most commonly used fabric softener in the textile industry-amino silicone oil as a silver carrier through some modify steps. Synthesis of anion modified amino silicone through emulsion polymerization costs less than bulk polymerization-emulsifying process and has higher production efficiency, which has some industrial significance.
