This paper summarized the background of fabric deepening agent and the research development, and we chose silicone emulsion as the subject of the study of deepening agent. We mainly discussed the bulk copolymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane ( D4 ) and the amino-coupling agent N-β-aminothyl-γ-aminopropylmethyldimethyoxysilane (WD53) and the hydrolyte of the coupling agent with KOH as catalyst. We also studied the relation of viscosity and reaction time, the influence of the amount of coupling agent on the amino-value. We have discovered the optimized synthetic condition and synthesized the amino-modified silicone oil for the preparation of the deepening agent.Based on the theory of hydrophilic-lipophilic balance and series of nonionic surfactants, we prepared the compound emulsifier according to the proportion of A-3:T-10=3:7, stable and transparent aminosilicone oil micro-emulsions were made by a certain microemulsifying technique. The part ternary phases diagrams of oil-in-water area by weight of the mixtures of aminosilicone oil(O), water(W) and complex surfactants(S) were used to study the interrelationship of aminosilicone oil, water and complex surfactant.We gained the crosslinkable resin emulsion by anionic emulsion polymerization and formulated the resin emulsion and amino-modified silicone emulsion with certain proportion to get the fabric deepening agent. Base on our analysis of mechanism of deepening, we discovered that the particle size of the amino-modified silicone emulsion had strong influences on the results of the treatment. And we finally figured out the optimized formulation and process of the fabric deepening agent with a satisfied treatment result compared with the imported deepening agent GE Magnsoft CY330. And a series of tests were undertaken according to the general industry requirements.With the research of the reflection of light on the synthetic fabric coated by the resin with lower index of infraction, we discovered that the thickness of resin had a periodic influence on the reflection, which provided a wonderful theoretical instruction for the preparation of the deepening agent.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
