Belt conveyor is a continuous conveying equipment for material transportation widely used in electric power, coal, ports, building materials and other fields.The running resistance coefficient is the most basic and important parameters of calculating the running resistance and the power of the belt conveyor. However, the normative and accuracy of the current running resistance coefficient is unsatisfactory. So in this paper we have made the exhaustive analysis of running resistance coefficient to master the variation and the numerical of it.Through the analysis of the belt conveyor system, there are many factors affect the resistance coefficient of the belt conveyor. Regarding the whole belt conveyor as a continuous system, we established the dynamic differential equation of the belt conveyor model. According to the different cause of the running resistance of belt conveyor, it will be divided into different part, and obtain the mathematical expressions of every resistance coefficient.Basing on the system dynamics theory of the belt conveyor as well as taking the ADAMS software as the virtual prototype, based on the certain simplified theory and hypothesis condition, the solid model of the belt conveyor is given with CMD ordered files in this theory; On the basis of this entity model, the changing trend of the running resistance coefficient of the belt conveyor in different conditions is analysed in detail.In the belt conveyor virtual prototyping model, studying on the dynamic simulation of the resistance moment of driving drum during the moment of the belt conveyor in three different kinds of belt speed, three different transportation load and three different roller diameter, and gets the corresponding conclusions. The simulation result is as follows: the lower the belt velocity, the smaller the running resistance coefficient. The running resistance coefficient in low speed is similar with the theoretical result, while in high speed has larger difference; As the heavier the transportation load, the bigger the running resistance coefficient; The larger roller diameter, the smaller running resistance coefficient.
