Due to the need to design lightweight car structures and the increased use of lightweight materials in industrial field, dissimilar material connection become an inevitable challenge. Adhesive joints as an ancient connection technology begin to be known and applied again. Compared with the traditional mechanical fasteners, adhesive joint not only be able to connect dissimilar materials, but also has many advantages in terms of stress distribution, design flexibility, powerful durability fatigue etc. In recent years, many industrial such as automotive aerospace etc. adhesive joint have been widely used.Currently, most study are focus on static research, however adhesive joint will inevitably face dynamics problems when it applied. This paper base on the statics analysis, an model to study the coupled transverse and longitudinal vibration of single adhesive joint is described. given the corresponding boundary and continuous condition, and precision. Then the single are analyzed with modal both experimental and simulation analysis, and the results compare with those obtained theoretically. At the same time, the effect of adhesive properties, lap size and the process parameters on the dynamic response of the single lap joint is investigated, analyzes their respective reasons and gives a basic reference of the single lap joint for practical application. These researches can provide effective forecast method and guidance to choose the reasonable adhesive joint.This paper also compared with the single lap joint’s natural frequency and mode shape of spot-weld, adhesive-bond and weld-bond joint through the experiment and simulation method. Compare with the spot-weld joint, the weld-bond joint have stronger stiffness and better NVH performance. At the same time, the commonly connection used on the car body structure is studies preliminary, for the weld-bond joint apply on car body provides a feasibility analysis, confirm that the prospect of apply weld-bond joint on car body. This research and conclusions have a significance guiding on the car body design and manufacture.
