With the improvement of product performance and accuracy of machining, LS WEDM’s role in the field of mechanical machining is increasingly enhanced. The motion control system, as an important part of WEDM numerical system, has played a more and more significant role, whose performance can directly influence the machining quality and stability of the whole machine tool system. This paper analyzes the development and current situations of domestic and overseas low-speed WEDM and its motion control system, based on which it makes a study and design in hard ware and soft ware system aiming at improving the performance of positioning control system of WEDM-LS.The topic on PC+high performance DSP movement control CARDS control mode, based on the model of the controller design of TI company digital signal processor chip TMS320LF2407as the core, and make full use of DSP and the advantages of good real-time integration, the PC will open characteristics and the real-time motion controller trajectory control ability combined together, reduced PC real-time requirements and to enhance the reliability of system, realize the precise control of the motor control.According to the function demand of LS WEDM, to positioning control system of the hardware and software design, with the PC as the information processing platform, motion controller embedded PC, the movement control card a module for the hardware circuit of the detailed design, including the core control board design, motor driver module, communication module, manual control module, etc. Vc++completed the PC user interface development, realize the motion control input parameters and motion of the real-time display.
